In control panel -> hardware and sound -> device manager, under the category "Universal Serial Bus controllers", I managed to find what was the USB device the G600 was connected to - I did that by right clicking -> uninstall on several USB devices until the G600 stopped working. At this point, the LGS doesn't recognize the G600, but the mouse itself works.
I connected the G600 to a USB hub, and I installed the latest version of LGS. Ok so I got it working somehow, here are the steps I did (I'm using windows 7 64bit):
